TourCast Privacy Policy

TourCast ('tourcast.co.kr', hereinafter referred to as 'TourCast') complies with applicable laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, and establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information and personal location information.

Article 1 (Purposes of Processing Personal Information)
TourCast processes personal information for the following purposes. Personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than those specified below, and if the purpose of use changes, TourCast will take necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
1. Membership registration and management (identity verification and authentication through linked SNS login, etc.)
2. Provision of 1:1 inquiry and consultation services (handling complaints and delivering responses)
3. Service improvement and operational management (analysis of access frequency and service optimization)
4. Marketing and event notifications (information on new services and opportunities to participate in events - only with optional consent)
5. Provision of location-based services (location information is used to provide location-based convenience services such as nearby tourist information, public transportation information, convenience facilities, place search, travel distance, and route information based on the user's current location.)

Article 2 (Personal Information Processed)
1. Required items: email address, nickname, SNS account identifier (Unique ID)
※ TourCast uses external SNS login methods and therefore does not separately collect or store passwords.
2. Optional items: consent to receive marketing information
3. Information automatically generated during service use: access IP address, device information (OS, model name, etc.), service usage records (such as access date and time)
4. When using location-based services: the device's current location information (location information identified through GPS, etc.)
※ Location information is temporarily processed only when the user uses a location-based feature for the purpose of providing the service, and the user's actual location coordinates are not separately stored in TourCast's database.
※ TourCast does not accept membership registrations from children under the age of 14 and confirms during the registration process that the user is at least 14 years old.

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)
1. Membership information: retained and used until withdrawal from membership.
2. Where retention is required under applicable laws: retained for the period prescribed by applicable laws such as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce (e.g., 5 years for contracts and withdrawal of offers, 5 years for payment records, etc.).
3. Personal location information: temporarily used during the provision of location-based services and destroyed without delay once the purpose of providing the service has been achieved. The user's actual location coordinates are not separately stored in TourCast's database.
4. Records confirming the use and provision of location information: automatically recorded and retained in the location information system in accordance with the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information and related standards, and retained for at least 6 months. Such records do not include the user's actual location coordinates, and information capable of identifying the location information subject is managed to the minimum extent necessary.

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)
TourCast processes users' personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 and, in principle, does not provide it to third parties unless the user has consented or there is a special provision under law.
However, in the course of providing location-based services, TourCast may use external services such as Google Maps Platform, Kakao, the Korea Tourism Organization, and public data APIs, and the user's location information may be transmitted to such service providers to the extent necessary to provide functions such as nearby place search, address conversion, route search, and tourist information search.
Where personal location information is provided to a third party under applicable law, TourCast will provide the required prior notice, obtain consent where required, and notify the user of the provision in the manner prescribed by law.

Article 5 (Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing and Overseas Transfer)
TourCast outsources certain personal information processing tasks as set forth below to provide stable services and implements necessary technical and administrative safeguards so that personal information is securely managed during outsourcing and service use.
- Service providers: Amazon Web Services, Inc. / Google LLC (Firebase)
- Outsourced tasks: infrastructure hosting, data storage, and user authentication services
- Destination countries: the United States and other countries where the relevant service providers' data centers are located (transfer method: ongoing transmission over networks)
- Outsourcing period: until membership withdrawal or termination of the outsourcing agreement

Article 6 (Procedures and Methods for Destruction of Personal Information and Personal Location Information)
1. Personal information is destroyed without delay when the processing purpose has been achieved or the retention period has expired. However, information required to be retained under applicable laws is separately retained for the legally required period.
2. Personal location information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of providing the location-based service has been achieved. However, records confirming the use and provision of location information that must be retained under applicable laws are retained for the legally required period.
3. Electronic files are deleted using methods that prevent recovery or reproduction, and paper documents are shredded or incinerated.

Article 7 (Rights and Obligations of Users and How to Exercise Them)
Users may at any time request access to, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of their personal information. Users may also withdraw all or part of their consent to the use or provision of personal location information, request temporary suspension, request access to or notification of records confirming the use and provision of location information, and request correction if such records contain errors.
These rights may be exercised by submitting a request in writing or by email to the Personal Information Protection Officer or the responsible department, and TourCast will take necessary measures in accordance with applicable laws.

Article 8 (Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information and Location Information)
TourCast implements technical and administrative safeguards required by applicable laws, including access authority management, access control, encryption and other secure transmission measures, operation of security programs, retention of access records, and measures to prevent tampering with such records.

Article 9 (Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies)
TourCast may use cookies and similar technologies to improve service quality and conduct statistical analysis. Users may refuse the storage of cookies through device or browser settings, but in such cases some service functions may be unavailable or restricted.

Article 10 (Processing of Personal Location Information)
① TourCast uses users' current locations to provide location-based convenience services such as nearby tourist information, public transportation information, convenience facilities, place search, travel distance, and route information.
② Personal location information is temporarily processed only to the extent necessary to provide location-based services and is destroyed without delay once the purpose of providing the service has been achieved. The user's actual location coordinates are not separately stored in TourCast's database.
③ In accordance with the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, TourCast automatically records and retains records confirming the use and provision of location information in its location information system for at least 6 months. Such records do not include the user's actual location coordinates, and information capable of identifying the location information subject is managed to the minimum extent necessary.
④ TourCast may use external services such as Google Maps Platform, Kakao, the Korea Tourism Organization, and public data APIs to provide location-based services, and the user's location information may be transmitted to such service providers to the extent necessary to provide the service.
⑤ Where TourCast provides personal location information to a third party under applicable laws, TourCast will provide prior notice of the required matters, obtain consent where required, and notify the location information subject of the recipient, time of provision, purpose of provision, and other required matters in the manner prescribed by law.
⑥ Users may at any time withdraw all or part of their consent to the use or provision of personal location information, request temporary suspension, and request access to, notification of, or correction of records confirming the use and provision of location information. Users may also change or revoke location access permissions through their device's operating system settings.
⑦ Inquiries and requests regarding personal location information may be directed to the Personal Information Protection Officer and responsible department specified in Article 11.

Article 12 (Remedies for Infringement of Rights)
For reports or consultations regarding personal information infringement, users may contact the Personal Information Infringement Report Center (privacy.kisa.or.kr, 118 without area code) or the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (www.kopico.go.kr, 1833-6972).

Article 13 (Changes to the Privacy Policy)

Article 14 (Multilingual Versions and Interpretation)
This Policy may be provided in multiple languages. In the event of any discrepancy in interpretation between a translated version and the Korean original, the Korean original shall prevail.
