TourCast Location-Based Service Terms of Use
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms are intended to define the rights, obligations, responsibilities, and other necessary matters between TourCast (hereinafter referred to as the "Company"), personal location information subjects, and service users in connection with the location-based services provided by the Company.
Article 2 (Effectiveness and Amendment of the Terms)
① These Terms become effective when a user who wishes to use the location-based services agrees to these Terms and uses the location-based services in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Company.
② The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that such amendments do not violate applicable laws and regulations.
③ If the Company amends these Terms, the reason for and details of the amendment will be disclosed through the Company's website, Service screen, or other means so that users can easily review them.
④ If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, the user may discontinue use of the location-based services or withdraw consent.
Article 3 (Details of Location-Based Services)
① The Company provides the following location-based services using the user's current location.
1. Provision of tourist attractions and tourism information near the user's current location
2. Provision of public transportation and mobility-related information near the user's current location
3. Provision of nearby convenience facilities and place information
4. Provision of distance information based on the user's current location
5. Place search and search results utilizing the user's current location
6. Provision of route, travel distance, and estimated travel information based on the origin and destination
7. Other travel and mobility convenience services utilizing the user's current location
② The Company may use location information provided by the device's operating system, including GPS, to provide location-based services.
③ Users may choose not to consent to the use of location-based services, and in such cases may continue to use other Company services that do not require location information.
Article 4 (Service Fees and Conditions)
① Unless otherwise announced, the location-based services provided by the Company are free of charge.
② If a mobile communications network or the Internet is used in the course of using location-based services, data communication charges may be imposed by the user's mobile carrier or Internet service provider, and such charges are the responsibility of the user.
③ The Company does not provide location-based services using personal location information to users who have not consented to the use of location information.
Article 5 (Purpose of Use and Retention Period of Personal Location Information)
① The Company uses users' personal location information for the purpose of providing the location-based services specified in Article 3.
② Users' personal location information is temporarily processed only to the extent necessary during the provision of the relevant location-based services and is destroyed without delay once the purpose of providing the service has been achieved.
③ The Company does not separately store the user's actual location coordinates, including GPS latitude and longitude, in the Company's database.
④ However, records that must be retained under applicable laws, including records confirming the use and provision of location information, may be separately retained for the period prescribed by law.
Article 6 (Retention of Records Confirming the Use and Provision of Location Information)
① In accordance with the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information and other applicable laws and regulations, the Company automatically records and retains records confirming the use and provision of location information electronically in its location information system.
② The Company retains records confirming the use and provision of location information for at least 6 months.
③ Such records do not include the user's actual location information itself, including GPS latitude and longitude, and information capable of identifying the personal location information subject is managed only to the minimum extent necessary.
④ After the retention period expires, the Company destroys such records by methods that make recovery or reproduction impossible in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Article 7 (Use of External Location Information Services)
① The Company may use external services to provide location-based services, including Google's location and map-related services such as Google Maps Platform and Google Places, Kakao Local and Kakao Mobility, Korea Tourism Organization TourAPI, and public data APIs.
② In the course of providing the Service, the user's current location information or origin and destination information may be transmitted to such external service providers to the extent necessary for nearby place searches, address conversion, place searches, route searches, tourism information searches, and similar functions.
③ When using external services, the Company endeavors to process location information only within the scope necessary to provide location-based services and implements protective measures required under applicable laws and regulations.
Article 8 (Provision of Personal Location Information to Third Parties)
① The Company does not provide personal location information to third parties without consent or another legal basis under applicable laws and regulations.
② If the Company provides a service that provides a user's personal location information to a third party designated by the user, the Company will provide prior notice of matters prescribed by applicable laws, including the recipient and purpose of provision, and obtain necessary consent.
③ If the Company provides personal location information to a third party under applicable laws, the Company will notify the personal location information subject of the recipient, time of provision, purpose of provision, and other required matters in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
④ With respect to transmission of location information occurring in the course of using external services under Article 7, the Company will provide any required notice, obtain consent where required, and implement protective measures according to the nature of the processing and applicable laws and regulations.
Article 9 (Rights of Personal Location Information Subjects)
① Users may withdraw all or part of their consent to the use or provision of personal location information at any time.
② Users may request temporary suspension of the use or provision of personal location information at any time.
③ Users may request access to or notification of the following records and may request correction if such records contain errors.
1. Records confirming the use and provision of location information concerning the user
2. Reasons and details concerning the provision of the user's personal location information to third parties under applicable laws
④ Users may permit or revoke the Company's access to location information at any time through their device's operating system settings.
⑤ If a user withdraws consent to the use or provision of personal location information, the Company will destroy the personal location information without delay, except for records confirming the use and provision of location information that must be retained under applicable laws.
Article 10 (Rights of Legal Representatives)
① The Company does not accept membership registrations from children under the age of 14 and does not provide location-based services using personal location information to children under the age of 14.
② If the Company provides location-based services to children under the age of 14 in the future, it will implement necessary protective measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including obtaining consent from a legal representative and verifying whether such consent has been provided.
Article 11 (Measures to Protect Location Information)
① To prevent leakage, alteration, damage, or other misuse of location information, the Company implements necessary administrative and technical safeguards under applicable laws and regulations, including establishment of location information handling and management guidelines, access authority management, access control, access log management, operation of security programs, and encryption.
② The Company limits and manages access rights to personal location information and records confirming the use and provision of location information to the scope necessary for business purposes.
Article 12 (Changes and Suspension of Services)
① The Company may restrict, change, or suspend all or part of the location-based services in the event of system maintenance, system failure, communications service failure, changes or discontinuation of services by external location information providers, or other unavoidable circumstances.
② If the Company makes material changes to the location-based services, it will disclose such changes to users in accordance with applicable laws and the methods prescribed in these Terms.
③ If the Company is unable to provide location-based services due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters or communications failures, the Company will not be liable unless otherwise specifically provided by applicable laws.
Article 13 (Obligations of Users)
Users must not engage in any of the following activities.
1. Unauthorized use of another person's location information or account
2. Use of location-based services for improper purposes
3. Infringement of the rights of the Company or a third party, or interference with Service operations
4. Any other activity that violates applicable laws or these Terms
Article 14 (Damages and Disclaimer)
① If the Company violates laws and regulations relating to location information and causes damage to a user, the Company will bear responsibility in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
② If a user causes damage to the Company by violating these Terms or applicable laws, the user is responsible for compensating the Company for such damage.
③ The accuracy of location information may vary depending on the device, GPS reception environment, communications environment, and data provided by external location information providers. Unless caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence of the Company, the Company is not liable for errors in location information arising from such circumstances.

Article 17 (Multilingual Versions and Interpretation)
① These Terms may be provided in multiple languages.
② In the event of any discrepancy in interpretation between a translated version and the Korean original, the Korean original shall prevail.

Article 18 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
① These Terms are interpreted and applied in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
② If a dispute arises between the Company and a user in connection with the use of location-based services, the Company and the user will consult in good faith to seek an amicable resolution.
③ Any lawsuit concerning a dispute that cannot be resolved through consultation shall be filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act of the Republic of Korea.
Supplementary Provision
These Terms take effect on August 24, 2026.

5. Place search and search results utilizing the user's current location
6. Provision of route, travel distance, and estimated travel information based on the origin and destination
7. Other travel and mobility convenience services utilizing the user's current location
② The Company may use location information provided by the device's operating system, including GPS, to provide location-based services.
③ Users may choose not to consent to the use of location-based services, and in such cases may continue to use other Company services that do not require location information.
