Harmonyland

ハーモニーランド

There are two Sanrio theme parks in Japan: Sanrio Puroland in the Tama area outside Tokyo, and Harmonyland in Oita Prefecture, Kyushu.

Puroland is an indoor theme park, while Harmonyland is an outdoor park with attractions such as roller coasters. The character shops also sell limited-edition items that are hard to find elsewhere.

You can spend the whole day with Hello Kitty and many other Sanrio characters, and the memories can stay with you long after your visit.

  • Passport Ticket (admission): Adults 3,600 yen
  • Afternoon Ticket (entry after 3:00 p.m.): 2,000 yen (night-opening days only)
  • Youth discount ticket: 2,600 yen with a student ID
  • Birthday discount: 2,600 yen with a passport on your birthday
  • Other discount categories: age 65+, pregnant visitors, and visitors with disabilities

1) How to Buy Discount Tickets

Even adults can get 1,000 yen off by buying tickets in advance at a Sanrio character shop.

In Fukuoka, there are stores at Hakata Station, Canal City, and Tenjin. There are also stores in other areas that sell tickets, so it is best to check and buy in advance.

2) Getting There

If you travel from Fukuoka to Harmonyland, you can go by train or highway bus.

If you take a highway bus, go to Beppu Kitahama stop first, then transfer to a train at Beppu Station and get off at Yokoku Station or Kitsuki Station. After that, take Bus No. 3 or a taxi.

If you take the Limited Express Sonic, you can skip Beppu and get off directly at Kitsuki Station (杵築), then continue by bus.

  • From Kitsuki Station, take Bus No. 3 timetable or a taxi (about 1,700 yen)
  • You can store luggage at paid coin lockers at the Harmonyland entrance or at Information (500 yen)
